A realistic layout comes to life with detail. From the cat sleeping on the front porch to the dog being taken for a walk. They all have little stories to tell and make a model railroad much more interesting.
Here is a great story from the SCTimes about Renee Grosser who actually creates models of peoples homes.
Renee Grosser and her husband, Ray, are model train enthusiasts. Renee Grosser builds railroad structures, such as houses and other buildings. Her husband builds model trains. The couple lives in Eubank, Ky., and they still love their hometowns in Central Minnesota.
Last week, they sat outside Renee Grosser’s childhood home in Waite Park. She displayed only a few of the miniature houses she modeled after places in her childhood.
She and her husband have won many awards for their railroad cars and buildings. Both have received awards with the National Model Railroad Association. Ray Grosser is a master model railroader, and Renee Grosser is a master structure builder.
Most recently, the Grossers won a $25 gift certificate for winning the Indianapolis Midwest Quarter Inch Fall Meet, a model railroad contest. She entered three of her Waite Park houses.
