Thank you Kevin for your video! It has given me a lot of ideas on how to create the best layouts! The way you have showed me how to create this scenery is very good. Now all I have to do is apply it to my type of layout ( 8' x 6'). I have learned a lot from your video!!

I too have used a hot wire, but not to cut a train scenery layout.

The blocks I cut were a little bigger (1200 wide x 700 high x 3800 long). The cutting machine I used was a Wintec Computerized Foam Cutting Unit, eg (Table size 6 metres x 2 metres). The largest free form thing I cut was a 3 dimensional 3.8 metre Great White Shark. I am not at that company any more. But from time to time they ask me back to do jobs for them.

I am good with electrics. Can I make my own foam cutter? Or is it better to buy a unit from a hobby shop.

Kind regards

This is a really cool video! I've been using styrofoam to create little landscapes for my reptiles for years (it's much safer than sand and provides great climbing surfaces). I picked up a few tips here that I'm going to use for my new geckos. Thanks
